Are you interested in posting original content on Modern Astrology?

Sharing content is an excellent way to build up your profile as an astrologer and an authority on your content. It’s also a great tool for increasing the visibility of your own website and backlinking – done responsibly, is more than welcome.

Please note that all submitted content must be approved by an admin before it goes live on the website blog. Some useful guidelines are provided below on the content that will be approved, and the kind of content that won’t. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have regarding content via the website’s contact page.

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Original And Complete Content Only: Any content posted must be the original work of the author. Please contribute content, not excerpts of a complete work posted somewhere else with a link offsite to read the completed post.

On Topic: Posts must be astrology related and offer information that’s educational and valuable to a reader.

Excerpts From Other Works Are Welcome: Excerpts from other work such as essays, books or other publications are welcome as long as they are posted as a complete article. Links back to the complete work are welcome.

Time Sensitive Work Is Welcome: Transits, predictive work etc is definitely welcome and in fact encouraged.

Western Astrology Only: This website focuses on western astrology only.

Inclusive Content: We’re all on a journey and have made decisions about what we consider the most appropriate forms of astrology suit us. Please bear in mind that others are on a similar journey and should be afforded the right to make decisions for themselves. Content that excludes, criticizes or condemns other forms of astrology, content that claims to be the only true and accurate form in it’s category etc will not be approved for publication.

Authentic Voice Only: Formulaic, unengaging or flat content may be refused.

No Sales Or Promotional Content: If the main gyst of your post is to up or cross sell a service or product then it will most likely be rejected.

Relevant Backlinks: You are welcome to include a backlink to your website in your author bio but please make sure your backlink is relevant to the work you post. A maximum of two backlinks are also allowed in posted content and again please ensure these backlinks are relevant. Backlinks will be checked.

Answer Comments: Comments are an opportunity to interact with your audience and to demonstrate mastery of your topic. Please make yourself available for discussion – especially for the first 2-3 days after posting new content.

Appropriate Length: Posts should be at minimum 600 words of engaging and interesting content.

Please Compress Images: There is a ‘feature image’ upload field in your Add Post form. A feature image personalises your content. Please ensure that your feature image is compressed to reduce bandwidth and to minimize impact on server storage. Recommended dimensions are a minimum of 800px x 600px and a maximum filesize of 300kb. Images larger than this will be rejected by the server. There is an excellent and free online image compression utility at https://shortpixel.com/online-image-compression.

Final Word: Admin reserve the right to make a final decision on what content goes onto the site and may or may not contact authors of content that doe not receive approval. Repeat offenders may be blocked and/or content removed at the discretion of admin without notice.
